At Halifax Shopping Centre we believe that small choices make a big impact on our environment and our community. Environmental stability and accountability are important to Halifax Shopping Centre. We are focused on creating a better relationship with the natural world and striving towards sustainable solutions. Water Efficiency: Use of low-flow faucets and toilets in our washrooms. Energy & Atmosphere: Converting lights to LEDs and reducing CFCs in HVAC equipment.Gift card recycling: Reducing single-use plastic waste through our gift card recycling program. Rooftop beehive: Docile honeybees play a crucial role in every aspect of our ecosystem — even in a city! They support the growth of trees, flowers, vegetables, and other plants. In fact, almost 90% of plant species rely on pollinators to reproduce. We are pleased to share our 2024 harvest has been donated to Nourish Nova Scotia, a registered charity working to inspire and equip young people in Nova Scotia to learn about food and transform the food systems around them.
