Hermoddities is a lively collection of comics and oil paintings created by Toronto based artist Temple Bates. These whimsical stories and images were largely inspired by curiosities in nature, animals, dreams and the astral world. Bates' compassion and sensitivity towards animals is revealed through her wide-eyed, endearing characters and touching, bittersweet narratives. This collection of work spans over ten years and includes two collaborative stories drawn with Winnipeg artist Drue Langlois, formerly of The Royal Art Lodge.
