The Parrish Art Museum, on Long Island's East End, holds one of the largest public collections of William Merritt Chase in the United States: over forty paintings and works on paper, and a wealth of archival photographs and documents. This volume features thirty works from his whole career: early still lifes from Europe, famous New York park scenes and studio works from the 1880s, and landscape paintings and portraits from the 1890s and 1900s.
